 Fastalarms are extremely proud to present its community alarm system. like all good systems simplicity is the heart of it.

How does it work?

1. We install a 104db siren with flashing leds on the front of the home
2. We supply a fixed bedside panic button for immobile residents or a wrist or neck strap panic button for active occupants.
3. We can also provide a linked smoke detector that automatically activates the external siren.
4. We notify by leaflet and conversation all the direct neighbours who would hear or see the external siren if it was activated.
5. They are encouraged to respond if it activates and are informed it does not give false alarms and that any activation is due to the deliberate use of a panic button or the automatic detection of smoke.
6. If the Siren is activated by the Panic Button then the siren sounds a continuous warble if the siren is activated by the smoke detector then the alarm sounds in triple bursts followed by a short gap and the interior smoke detector also sounds.Thesiren also flashes three red LEDs.

This simple system puts the community back in its rightful place.

Todays society is fragmented with often elderly parents living far from their sons and daughters or even alone with no dependents. With a Fastalarms Community alarm the home of a vunerable person linked to a personal panic button (and where requested a linked smoke detector) can immediately summon help from surrounding neigbours.

Local neighbours are informed by letter and verbally where possible and requested not to ignore the siren if it activates but to check the occupants wellbeing as an act of community spirit. (see distributed letter here) 

 This system is useful in so many scenarios the following list is far from exhaustive 

• If someone vunerable falls or is taken ill
• If they feel threatened in their home
• If they detect intruders in their garden
• in cases of actual burglary
• If pressured by salesmen who refuse to leave
• In cases of fires or smoke where the automatic activation ensures the siren activates even if the occupant becomes overcome with fumes or there is noone at home.

This system is designed to be used as a standalone system or to compliment any other system already in place.

Our community alarms prime advantage is potentially the speed that assistance can arrive being direct neighbours. Our system can also summon help where someone has difficulty with telephones or cannot reach a phone if they have fallen or are in the wrong room.

Linked smoke detector automatically activates external siren and its own siren in case of smoke.
